It's my passion!
Ever since I was a little girl I loved makeup and playing dress-up! My dream was not only to work with cosmetics, but to to be a scientist developing and formulating cosmetic products in a lab. I obtained my Bachelor Degree in Biochemistry, with a minor in Chemistry, from the University of Calgary. I continued my studies in London, England graduating with a specialized post graduate Diploma in Cosmetic Science.
While studing cosmetic formulation, I also learned its application and graduated with Honours from the exclusive Fashion Makeup & Hair Styling Program at the London College of Fashion. This experience changed my whole life; I discovered my true passion - Makeup Artistry! I re-directed my career from cosmetic chemist to makeup artist.
In 1997, I moved to the West Coast and after completing yet another diploma (in Advanced Makeup and Special Effects, from Blanche Macdonald Institute), I worked as a Vancouver Makeup Artist in the film industry for several years. Over the past 12 years, I have worked on TV shows, commercials, short and feature films, music & corporate videos, fashion / editorial photo shoots, live shows, celebrities, models and numerous brides. Some of my clients include: Hillary Swank, Chad Lowe, Hedy Fry, TV Series - Alice I Think, Life Network - Crash Test Mommy, GM, Aids Foundation, Canadian Home Income Plan, Richmond Center Fashion Show and the Leo Awards. 
I am also a licenced Nail Technician and specialize in Complete Bridal Beauty Services including makeup, hair styling and nails serving the Vancouver area.
Combining my makeup skills as an artist and my science background, I am excited and proud to carry my own line of professional Cosmetic and Skincare products, “IRIS COSMETICS”.
